Our Partners
The activity of ACT, to a great extent, is dependent on the work of its partners on the field who ensure, in particular, contact with the victims in their respective countries or regions.
Since 2007, ACT has concentrated its efforts on Algeria and Bosnia-Herzegovina, two countries which, to a large extent, do not respect international human rights standard in finding satisfactory solutions for victims of atrocities committed within their borders.
ACT has at its disposal a small office in Sarajevo and a contact person in Algiers to ensure contact with the victims and the NGOs on the field, which the Center will work together with.
Eventually, the Advocacy Center will intervene in other situations to give assistance to victims of international crime, especially in Asia. The most important condition for ACT to decide on taking position in favour of victims of serious abuses remains the fact that the State in question must have ratified the relevant international treaties.
It is also worthwhile mentioning that this project has been made possible thanks to generous donations, notably from the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs; the City of Geneva; the Foundation Pro Democratia; the Dutch Permanent Mission to the United Nations in Geneva; the Association "Together for Human Rights”; and the Loterie Romande.
ACT hereby expresses its most grateful thanks to these contributors without whose aid the project would never have seen the light of day.
