|  | |  | Elizaphan Ntakirutimana in all probability was born in 1924 in Ngoma in the Kibuye Prefecture of Rwanda. At the time of the events in question, he was a pastor of the Church of the Seventh Day Adventists in the “Mugonero Complex” in Ngoma. Between April and June 1994, he encouraged and took part in murders in the Mugonero and Bisesero regions. Notably, on 16 April 1994, he had a group of armed gunmen brought into the “Mugonero Complex” These armed belligerents killed several hundreds of civilians, in great majority Tutsis, who had taken refuge at this site.
Moreover, between April and June 1994, Elizaphan Ntakirutimana also transported armed belligerents on several occasions to other locations in the Bisesero region with the aim being to massacre the civilian population.
Elizaphan Ntakirutimana was arrested on 29 September 1996 in Texas (USA), subsequently freed, then arrested again on 26 February 1998.
