Slobodan Davidovic was arrested in eastern Croatia in June 2005 soon after the footage was shown at the trial of former Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic at The Hague.
He was tried before the special trial chamber for war crimes at the district court of Zagreb, Croatia.
On 29 December 2005, Davidovic was found guilty of participating in the murder of the six young Bosniaks in 1995 and of torturing Croatian soldier Zeljko Junacki in 1991.
The court handed down prison sentences of 14 and 9 years, respectively, and unified them into a single prison sentence of 15 years.
In its judgment, the court denied as groundless Davidovic’s statement that he was forced to commit crimes because otherwise he would have been killed as well.
Both the prosecution, which had sought the maximum 20-year penalty, and Davidovic said they would appeal the sentence.
